Julian is a qualified notary public, CEDR Accredited commercial mediator and in arbitration (member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and has a Diploma in International Arbitration. He is a consultant solicitor to several London solicitors’ practices in addition to his own independent consultancy practice. Julian advises several leading renewable energy cooperatives. He has significant advisory and litigation experience.

His work covers wide-ranging sectors, including the creative industries film, TV, music, photography, publishing, gaming and fashion; technology and innovation, including fintech; and renewable energy.

Julian is a commentator for EU Audio Visual Observatory and Television Business International including subjects such as NFTs (non-fungible tokens).  His lecturing experience includes to post-graduate students as The University of Reading on IP and new technologies in financial markets, final year commercial law undergraduates at the University of Sussex, lecturing at Cologne Film School, as well as running the legal clinic and being a panellist at The London Screenwriters’ Festival. He has written and lectured on the effect of AI and the metaverse on the media and technology sectors.

Julian has a keen interest in journalism and writing having entered various script competitions. He was for several years Editor of Independent Television News 1955 Club Newsletter and remains its Editor at Large. Julian founded and edited Blue Pencil magazine devoted to IP issues relevant to the creative industries.
